Reaktor 6
Instrument Sequencer

DESCRIPTION

Whenever a square hits the edge, it releases a note. There are 4 squares, and each can be fully controlled or randomized, each can be fully synced or move to its own beat.

Video demonstration: https://youtu.be/THatLNnTbhU

This is my first "serious" Reaktor work so this has been a learning process and mistakes have been made. Namely I am not very satisfied with the UI, which I plan to replace if there is any interest in this device.

Usage:
The device is intended as a sequencer, but it comes with a simple internal synth. To use it fully as a sequencer, turn "Amp" all the way down.

The device uses both panel "A" and "B".
Panel "A" shows the current values of each square's property (x/y speed, pitch and amplitude).

Panel "B" describes what happens when "reinit" is clicked - each square's property is overwritten according to the settings in panel "B". Each property has a starting value (the knob) and a bidirectional random offset (the fader). When all the faders are down, you will get the same results whenever you click "reinit". if you want to add some rnadomness, turn some faders up.

The copy button in panel "B" allows you to copy the current values shown in "A" to the knobs in "B". This is useful because snapshots store only the values in "B". Therefore if you find a set of values you like and want to store, using the copy button first will save you a lot of time.

In Panel "A" there are 3 buttons per square: Shuffle, Lock and Sync.
When shuffle is on, a reinit is triggered only for the pitch whenever the square bounces. This allows you to get a randomized pitch on each trigger. The randomization range is controlled via panel "B".

When lock is on, clicking reinit does not affect this square.

When sync is on, x/y speeds are locked to temo synced values.

When using the internal synth, you can use the lfo to modulate each squares pitch and amplitude. The lfo has currently no impact on the outgoing midi notes.

One problem is that it does not save the pitch value with my projects (Reaper). It is replaced with a default value (C5,A "2,C9,G9) when I open my project.

Excellent ! it is possible to have an update with the possibility that the cubes collide and bounce ?

Hey Phillip! Glad to hear you like it :) Yeah, a master speed control makes a lot of sense. I'll give it a go!

Thanks Roy, it's great, love it ! Future coud see a general speed control (mult/div) or scales somewhere ? What do you think ?
