GETTING STARTED
You will learn how to use the KOMPLETE AUDIO 6 for audio playback and recording. If you have some experience already, feel free to jump straight into any section using the navigation above. For beginners, we recommend spending some time reading through the whole guide.
First take a look at the features to get an overview:
IN 1
Connect your microphone, guitar, bass, or synthesizer here. For microphones, use an XLR cable. For guitars, basses, and synthesizers, use a 1/4 inch jack cable. The GAIN knob next to the input controls the input level.
IN 2
Connect your microphone, guitar, bass, or synthesizer here. For microphones, use an XLR cable. For guitars, basses, and synthesizers, use a 1/4 inch jack cable. The GAIN knob next to the input controls the input level.
LINE / INST
Select LINE when using the corresponding input with a synthesizer or any other line level source. Select INST when using a guitar or bass.

48V
Enable the 48V power supply (phantom power) for IN 1’s and IN 2’s XLR connector when using a condenser microphone.
MONO/STEREO
Select MONO when listening to mono sources connected to the inputs via headphones (direct monitoring). Select STEREO when listening to a stereo source connected to either IN 1 and IN 2 or IN 3 and IN 4.
1-2/3-4
Select 1-2 to listen to IN 1 and IN 2 via headphones (direct monitoring). Select 3-4 to listen to IN 3 and IN 4. Note that the INPUT/HOST knob needs to be turned to the left in order to listen to the inputs via headphones.
INPUT/HOST
Adjust the balance between the inputs (direct monitoring) and the audio from the computer for the headphones output. Note that the 1-2/3-4 switch needs to be set to the pair of inputs you want to listen to.
HEADPHONES OUTPUTS
Connect your headphones here. The knob above each of the outputs controls the headphones volume.
OUT1/2 VOLUME
Control the output level of the outputs on the back of the device, OUT 1 and OUT 2.
METERING
Check the individual input levels of inputs IN 1 - IN 4 and the combined output level of OUT 1 and OUT 2.
Status LEDs
Check the status of the USB connection and the 48V microphone power supply (phantom power) as well as activity on the MIDI IN and MIDI OUT.
IN 3 and IN 4
Connect additional equipment here using 1/4 inch jack cables, for example, an external effects processor.
OUT 1 AND OUT 2
Connect your stereo system or active loudspeakers here using 1/4 inch jack cables.
OUT 3 AND OUT 4
Connect additional equipment here using 1/4 inch jack cables, for example, an external effects processor.
SPDIF IN 5/6 / SPDIF OUT 5/6
Connect additional equipment here using coaxial RCA cables carrying a digital signal according to the S/PDIF standard (Sony/Philips Digital Interface).
MIDI IN / MIDI OUT
Connect MIDI equipment here using a 5pin DIN cable, for example, a MIDI keyboard or a synthesizer.
USB CONNECTOR
Connect your computer here using the provided USB cable.
