DooMBoX v2.0
Trash drums and now sequences
DESCRIPTION
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you downloaded v2.0 please don't use the randomisation/morphing functions to create new patches, it will probably crash Reaktor and even if it doesn't you will make a lot of the ensemble not work properly. Entirely my fault, rather too liberal with my use of send/receive modules........
v2.01 fixes this issue and so far the randomisation seems to have no ill effects. Now back to the show.........
DooMBoX v2.0 is here! Same drum sample engines but now with much sequencing goodness and a couple of reverbs.
The gate sequencing comes in two parts, the neuron sequencer (my version of Poul Vestergarde’s Neurondrum) and 4 table based step sequencers. The Neuron sequencer consists of a bunch of counters can be routed to each other to create interesting polyrhythms. These can then be routed to any of the 4 sequencers or used to record or delete gate events into the step sequencers. The step sequencers should be relatively obvious, the only interesting things I’ve added is a probability based skip function and independent swing for each sequencer. Oh, by the way the neuron sequencer’s timing seems a little wonky, been trying to fix that but I think that will wait till v2.01. In the meantime recording it into the step sequencers seems like the best way of using it.
I’ve also added a step sequencer to each drum voice which can be routed to all the same destinations as the modulators. When routed to pitch the output is quantised so you can even try making kind of) melodic sequences. You can also record the modulators into the step sequence instead of drawing your own.
Lastly I’ve added 2 simple modulated reverbs which can also be cajoled into doing some flanging and simple echo effects given the right settings.
If you have any suggestions for improvements/fixes please let me know, still very much learning the ropes.
