DESCRIPTION

52 new snapshots, 30 new samples, and new features by one of Metaphysical Function’s original sound designers.

New features include the ability to play the Resochord like a musical instrument via MIDI note input, providing faster and engaging control of each comb filter’s pitch; the ability to create chord progressions, with the Resochord via Metaphysical Function’s slider automation or via MIDI note input; Oscillator trim; Stereo input toggle; Sample vs Input crossfade
; Pitch bend and Mod Wheel control; and re-triggering of Sampler and Slider Automation via MIDI note input.

Metaphysical Function is one of the first professional sound design projects I worked on. After spending most of my career doing video game audio at Rockstar Games, it was really fun to come full circle and revisit my beginnings as a professional sound designer. I approached making these sounds from the perspective of pure sound design and letting my creative juices flow. I hope you enjoy the new sounds (and new features) as much as I’ve enjoyed creating them.

For an introduction to the sounds, new features, and insights into the sound design techniques what went into creating some of the sounds in Metaphysical Fabrications, check out these videos:

What are the possibilities of using it, e.g. for a short video form? How does the friends license work?

It's okay to use it for film production maybe?

How can I manage a pitch control via midi keyboard? What exactly I have to change (to add) in EDIT mode?

Thank you for the info Janne. Such a shame you can't play a midi keyboard with this. If anyone ever can find a workaround, let us know!

Not just a great re-imagining of MF, but the presets alone are magnificent! Excellent work!

It is well hidden in the sample/waveform section, which will open, if you double-click the sample on the main panel. But this does not prevent the instrument from autoplay. This function is unfortunately not included and it was confirmed by the author himself in comments to one of the tutorial videos on Youtube. It is a pity, because this highly reduces any practical use of this exceptional VST. You may just record audio samples of soundscapes, with no reference to midi and/or project tempo.

Where EXACTLY do you turn off 'auto pre-listen'" "uncheck in the menu..." What menu? Please explain more precisely. Thank you

Thank you very much, Metaphysical is amazing. nice work

Ashlynn, sorry about the naive question, but the only menu I see is the Reactor menu just to the right of the magnifying glass. Nothing there about auto pre-listen. PLEASE tell me where the menu is to shut off the auto play and have the midi input trigger the patch only

You should be able to uncheck the auto pre-listen in the menu so that it's triggered by notes only

METAPHYSICAL FUNCTION, automatically plays each patch when loaded. How to not have this happen & trigger the patch with midi input.

Metaphysical is amazing. But I have one question. How to make it sound when I hit the keys on the keyboard instead of sounding right at the moment I load the instrument in Reaktor. I can't find any play or start/stop button ))

Eureka! This is a great enhancement to one of my all-time favorite sound generators. I still use the Christmas freebie from prehistoric times (I wonder if you composed any of those patches?). The MIDI features are extremely welcome and useful. Your patches & samples are also valuable additions to this magnificent synth. And it was very generous of you to provide some very informative videos to introduce the features and some of your techniques. Much kudos poured on you and yours!

Just thought I’d share here too. I released another video covering some of the visual aspects of Metaphysical Function and the sound design process used to create the sounds in the Cool Shapes category: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-uuPlAk_FY&mc_cid=10f6418a11&mc_eid=61d66d11a0

Incredible sounds! There's a sense of immediate inspiration here that's really wonderful. I just recently purchased Komplete 10 and only began tinkering around with Reaktor a few days ago. There's a whole world of sound to explore in there -- and in here -- and I thank you for your generosity in sharing these sublime creations! I just recently got back into music/sound production after an extensive period of creative burn-out, so I love stumbling across content like this. Keeps me motivated and really gets the creative juices flowing. Keep up the great work!

Thanks for the encouraging and kind comments. Will definitely be releasing more! I’ve been shifting the efforts of my sound design company to doing this kind of stuff. Looking forward to spending more time on synth sound design. I’m also open to suggestions for future releases ;) @Michael Bourne Sorry to hear that the website was giving you a hard time. Glad you were able to get it here :) Please don’t hesitate to drop me a note on my website if you run into problems in the future.
