Does anybody know how i can set this thing up with external synths outside of reaktor in teh Ableton environment? Ive tried creating a midi out instrument and have had no luck thx.

Noooo! I just noticed an error! The lamps for steps 1 and 2 of the timing sequence have the same settings, so light up at the same time. That's disappointing. Ryan, can you explain what you mean by a clock without infinite energy? Are you referring to the 32nd notes? The Quantizer was just lifted from a Martin Brinkmann ensemble, I think. Do you have an example of a more interactive quantizer? I also have been thinking about how to make a MIDI version of this, where the Transpose could be done with an external keyboard. Thanks for your comments!

Gives good results with a classic feel. I would say the length and timing work well as you can adjust length without upsetting the clock and the random can be dialed in from nothing to large deviations. Also great that a new length can be input directly without having to move through intermediate values. If I had to be picky I would say it might be nice to have a version where the pitch, transpose and timing knobs are ganged closer together with decreasing sizes respectively. Also, a more interactive quantizer plus a gated drum sequencer might make it more fun. Maybe a clock without infinite energy? Overall, a great starting point. Might be cool to see this design adapted for an asymmetrical vertical polyphonic sequencer.

Please feel free to comment about my methods of achieving random and length. I'm happy I found a way to do it, but would like to know of easier ways.
