DESCRIPTION

This macro fades between a row of snapshots of the parent instrument using Raktors morph funktion, so morphing snapshots can be modulated and of course automated.

How to use the macro:

MAKE SURE TO SET THE MORPH TIME OF YOUR INSTRUMENT TO 0 AND TURN OFF "BUTTON FADING". Otherwise the macro creates mad chaos, loosing its smoothness.
Then you just need to put it into the instrument for wich you want to morph the snapshots. It is not necessary to connect something to the "mod"-input, its optional (see below)!
Now, set the Snapshot-Range with the "First Snapshot" and the "Last Snapshot" knobs. Now you can morph your snaps by using the main fader (in the middle of the macro).
To keep your focus on whats going on, there are some displays to help you, finding out what the macro is doing at the moment.
The "mod"-input CAN be used to apply any sort of modulation (for example LFO). MAKE SURE THAT EVERYTHING, THAT IS CONNECTED HERE HAS "SNAPSHOT ISOLATE" OPTION ON, TO PREVENT EVENT LOOPS! You can of course build your modulation source inside my macro to keep your instrument tidy. If you fade between many different snapshots, be sure to input LFOs at low frequencies here, if you want to keep the result smooth. Further smoothing can be applied by the glide option.

Have fun!

P.S.: I built this for "Vowels v0.1" by Nativ Instruments to morph through all the vowels. But it is useful with other isntruments/effects, too.

Changelog:

Version 1.1

- Just updated infotext

Version 1.2 Changes:

- Added a button to turn the macro off, so you can edit your snapshots without ending in chaos.
- The Multi-Displays are replaced by XY Displays, because it does not need more otions.
- The display for actual fader position is now showing the situation AFTER glide (before it was before the gilde).
- You can now change the curve of the morph-postion from sine-like to more impulse-like (see what the morph-position indicator does) response. (I will do further work on the curve option, if I can in the future.)
- Added tooltip/hints to all visible panel-controls.

Version 1.3

- Just updated infotext

Version 1.4

- Just updated infotext

Version 1.5

Great piece of macro ! I love it. I tried to integrate toggles to switch directly between both extreme fader positions but i didn't manage... Up to you is it possible ?

Good stuff...automated morphing of snaps is something i've wanted to do for quite some time. this is going to be really useful thanks for sharing :-)

I see. Did you try to turn on the "Snap Isolate" option for that fader? As said in my info text, the "mod"-input should only be connected to things that are isolated from Snapshot to prevent "event loops" (not in the conventional meaning). Imagine you modulate the actual snapshot to the next with a fader that loads its value from the actual/nextSnapshot... you see what I mean. Reaktor never stuck during my work, but I did not try many Instruments/Effekts.

I had some problem with knobs that got stuck in some .ens when I had fader wired to module input. But when I moved that fader into master instrument and wired it from it worked ok. Odd, but I cannot re-create the problem.

Sorry, Kimmo, I do not really understand what you are meaning? You connected a fader to the "mod"-input and then Reaktor crashed? And by "master-instrument" you mean the instrument where you can set the volume of your ensemble? Please give me further information, if this could be a generell problem with my macro!

I used fader as input with v. 1.2 . I got stuck and I moved that fader it inside of master instrument so it didnt mess with the instrument module was morphing.

Got it! Thanks Phil Thanks Simon

Christopher, just insert (drag and drop) the macro into the structure of an instrument that already has a number of snapshots.

Version 1.2 is now uploaded! Hope that will solve Phils problem?

@ Phil Durrrant Yes, I know this issue, but it just apeared once in the building process and after that never again. I am updating the macro at the moment so there is a switch inculded to turn it off, so you can edit your snaps without panical chaos. I guess I will finish this today and also add some more comments to the panel elements.

Exactly what I´ve missed. Lets see how it does Limelites.

it certainly works nicely with "Vowels" but it seems to lock the knobs and faders after insertion. by that i mean i can no longer move the knobs. is anyone else have this problem? i am using a Mac

I love your macro Simon and give you 10 points

This should be quite neat, I was just feeling 'Kore' envy the other day, just for it's ease of multi scene morphing...perhaps this will do it! Thanks :)
