Reaktor 5 or lower
Instrument Other

DESCRIPTION

this one goes back to my early experiments with reaktor 2.3.
the random section is not that optimized, but trying something more effective has harmed all the snapshots. so i decided to work it out, and it got a life of its own.

use the random button and play around.

updated for reaktor 4.02 but not tested on macs. slightly CPU optimized and some new snapshots.

If I can figure out why I get this static or digital distortion, this will be a great tool for me. I seem to get it on a lot of other downloads as well but am not yet experienced enough to know what to do. Thanks for your work on this instrument, it is awesome!

This is a really nice ensemble. Excellent work Rolf. I am not usually that keen on effects generators, but I think this thing is brilliant. What's great about it is that the noises it produces are eminently useable almost straight out of the box. Really professional look for the user interface as well.

i am very pleased. was looking for an evolving static that still had a bit of user input for a track i'm working on. fit the bill perfectly with only a little tweaking.

What an astonishing trip. There are many wonderful surprises here. I can't help but smile when I select most of the snapshots. Sounds range from (quasi-)natural to surreal worlds. Definitely ranks among my favorite sound effects engines. Great work!

This is excellent at what it's trying to do... and I have a feeling that I will find a lot of uses for it... (but then I am a noise and random freak to begin with so it's a good fit for me... but readers please note that this is much more sophisticated than just random noise generator and is quite capable of very subtile and complex textures and sounds)... anyway, I just wanted to thank you for sharing it in this forum... and to congratulate you on your work.... and lastly, may I add that this has a great name and concept.... it really does have a sort of amped up organic feel to it's sounds... a superb work I think... (good enough to develop even further if you decide to... thanks again!)

Thanks for that, Benjamin - works now! Nice sounds! :-) Some of the presets seem to produce an extra clicking noise that I could do without, though!

I made it work. The 'Selector' (in lifeforms:molecular level) that has mutation as it's control input doesn't have a 'shape' (none, linear, sine) selected. I selected linear. boo yah.

Some more comments within for all the controls would be nice.

Awesome! I tend not to like things this noisey, but this creates some absolutely fascinating sounds. Rich, complex, dense, amazingly compelling. Recommended.

thanks. there is a way; if i can use some friend's mac for a day. this will take some time. i think the pc and mac version send different initialisation values.

Rolf, this looks so tempting! Is there no way to make this Mac compatible?! Brilliant and simple design, by the way. Much better than the standard fare of synths from the user library.

i just deleted the updated version, it seems not to work. all you can do is to wait for the next reaktor update.

just uploaded an updated version, which MAY work on macs. cross platform? why should this work, when so many things don't? let's pray that the update will fix these things.

Same here on a powerbook 1 GHz - no sound

Looks interesting but it doesn't produce any sounds with R4 or RS on an Apple Mac! :-( Strange, as your gliss_swarm works fine.
