For ghostly or hollow sounds, this is a very difficult ensemble to beat.

So damn simple, yet still sounds great. Hard to believe this was done almost 15 years ago. Fantastic.

A synth with it own personality. Very nice. Thanks. It would be awesome, if it was easier to make impact and percussive sounds too. There's is a potential in the synth to this i believe. Just a suggestion. Lars Bo Hermansen

This is another simple gem of a download. Not only does it create very functional pads but it has inspired me to want to modify it. Yes, it may not be perfect, but it has the charm of a Reaktor ensemble -- something I want to tweak from the inside out.

4 are better than 3...had lost ice-pad, re-found it, forgot it (thus stupid post 63 here, after 2 before, blush), and read that I had 31° last summer in the attic. 40° now, so definitely the choice for tonight! Sounds not only ICY, but makes tooo melodical pieces chill. And weird. A good thing.

Wicked sounding Rick. Versatile as well... I played around with swaping the sine OSC's for Sawtooth, Triangle, or whatever and it still sounds lush and eerie, but slightly different. My fav instrument in the library at the mo

under the roof in wet and damp heat (31°C at midnight) you can't probably imagine how well I like this now. Read your CM-columns as they come, always inspiring too. Now something to get my PC to actually cool down the room? If I_ll change place I'll take your enxembles with me.

what it does, it does really really well, although its palette is limited. I've pulled this out on various occasions when I'm looking for 'that' sound, and it seems to come up trumps. good job

rick, a tremendous pad; produces sounds which are deep and rich and unfamiliar, and yet focused, structured, formed; not simply noise. the atmospherics at lower registers makes me wonder what a 'woopad', 'waterpad', 'stonepad' and 'firepad' would sound like! & to inspire the imagination is a great gift. wonderful! -aqaraza

This ensemble sound great! I really like the more abstract ambient sounds that IcePad does compared to more conventional types of synths. Very streamlined and uncluttered UI, yet there is is enough control to mutate the sound drastically.
