Reaktor 5 or lower

DESCRIPTION

Update Version 1.9 (4/17/04):
---------------------------------------------
Added some things to make it more like the Virus...
- Multiple "Saturation Curves" for the distoration - the Sine-Shaper is much fun.
- Choice of signal routing for the filters
- "Envelope mode" for the LFO. Check the "Env" button for disclaimer about a possible Reaktor bug.

Update for Version 1.7 (4/8/04):
---------------------------------------------
Updated for r4.1.2
- Fixed scroll bars for delay pan position
- Added a couple more snapshots
- Arpeggiator logic Seems to be running great thanks to R4.1.2 internal automation fixes!

Update for Version 1.6 (8/28/03):
---------------------------------------------
Fixed problem with ensemble load-after-save when used as VSTi

Update for Version 1.5 (5/26/03):
---------------------------------------------
"Snap Isolate" for Text Lists doesn't work - no wonder I couldn't track down the problems I was having. This version has no text lists.
Sorry I didn't catch this sooner.

===============================================

Description:

I decided to try to create an arpeggiator that worked like the one in my Virus KB. The trick is that I wanted it to be a macro that could be cut and pasted into other instruments without the need for redoing all the patterns and snapshots in the new instrument. Here you have it.

All settings for the arpeggio patterns are in tables, and the tables have their own compare / restore functionality - just like if you were using snapshots.

I built an instrument around it, made a whole bunch of snapshots, and named the ensemble Koyaanisqatsi, since its arpeggios remind me so much of the film (by Godfrey Reggio with music by Philip Glass). Just check out the snapshots, its easy to use and comes with VERY detailed notes and instructions section.

Includes a readme file on some the finer points of how you can expect the arpeggiator to work. The panel and macros are fully commented.

- Enjoy,
CList

Gonna take some working out but there's a wide variety of presets to be flicked through, so I know it's capable of a hell of a lot.

Hello all and sorry for the delay in posting. I am new to this forum/sharing and have only one thing to say about this product: Nice Work! My sales engineer referred me here since I was wondering if there was anything remotely close to the type of sounds produced from a Virus. Now I understand why sound engineers and house/techno producers demand one as part of their arsenal! Please make more since I am importing everything into Logic Pro. Let the fun begin! Your hard work in developing this is very much appreciated.

Oh, and you can just use the arrow up/down (and sideways) buttons on your computer keyboard to choose the next sound. Man, that is just GREAT! Instant soundtrack. Try it...

U know, this synth auditions? If you play a chord, press your sustain pedal, you can scroll down the sounds and it'll keep playing through the new patches without glitching? Why can't all synths do that? Excellent work

For some reason the website won't let me vote on this my favourite reaktor synth, (I even downloaded it a second time but to no avail) so let it be known that I hereby award it a well-deserved 10/10. Awesome. When's the next one coming?

Great Synth! has lots of DnB basses on preset, the arpeggiator is flexible and lends itself to lots of styles out of the box, and the leads are great! Intuitive to use, I played for an hour without a single question ... it just reveals itself. Boss patch!

BLAH!!! NOW i read that you HAVE changed something on the Filta-Distortion...and that the Arpeggiator IS THE THING on this Synth! Well, sorry for my Blahblahz!

HIGH !!! Yeah, I love the Hardwired Virus, too! But thiz one is...häm...how can I say? The Filter Distortion that I love by the HW-Virus soundz very digital...I have a older version of this Ensemble but it doesn´t have a Virus sound at all. I´ll try it with this newer Version but I don´t think that you´ve changed something on the Filter-Distortion? It sounds so harshy... I´m sorry for that because I read all this wonderfull rewievs. I have to say that I didn´t even try the Arpeggiator cause I don´t like Arp´s at all! So maybe the Arp is THE thing on this .ens! David...: Sorry, I have no idea. I used it Cubase SX and SX2 and it works fine. I assume it works fine for use when used stand-alone - right? I have to assume it's soemthing to do with your version of cubase not sending the info needed by the tempo-info module or something. Without having your version of Cubase on your platform, I really can't say what the problem could be. If the LFO is working and syncing to the tempo (also driven from tempo-info) then it's even more strange that the arpeggiator wouldn't work. I can take some stabs in the dark if you want to mail me at: clist (at) mindspring (dot) com

Oops! Thanks Jo, but seriously... Are there any other users who have reported that the arpeggiator doesn't work? All other user ensembles with arpeggiators work fine (Orbitation, etc.)for me. This is the only one I've found with this problem. Chris, do YOU have any idea why this particular function doesn't work for me? By the way, I get event loop warnings all over the place even though they are globally disabled and turned off in the properties menu. Is it a Mac thing? Phil? Anyone? Oops! Love the synth part, but even on the older version, I could never get the arpeggiator to work. (I'm using R4 as a plug-in in Cubase VST 32 5.1, Mac OS 9.2). Any ideas?
