DESCRIPTION

Allows the ability to use both speakers to reproduce the extreme bass instead of one speaker if a bass instrument is panned. Choose a low end break point and 12 or 24 db per octave filters. The ensemble passes a stereo image and you decide what heads to the middle. The acoustic power of the bass remains unchanged no matter what you do.

Definitely a good idea to center the bass if the sound is to be cut for vinyl

I use this as a vst plugin on the master channel in a daw. It's kind of nice for headphones because we all know what a panned bass sounds like in one ear. For speaker use, it's nice to reduce the long cone excursions. The plugin shares that deep bass to both speakers. So if your bass sound happens to be panned, this reduces the cone excursion by sharing it with the other speaker. In most speakers systems the deep bass sounds omnidirectional anyway so why not share the bass for best performance. The effect will pan the bass to the middle faster with the 24db filter. So I set it pretty deep with headphones on, but with speakers the 12db sounds pretty good. It seems true what I've heard from others. Tones below 250hz start sounding omnidirectional. I guess it's the distance between you ears, the speed of sound, and very low frequencies end up nearly in phase in both ears. Enjoy my friends.
