DESCRIPTION

An unusual rhythm maker that doesn’t use drums it is almost as if minimalist composer Steve Reich (and not the therapist Wilhelm Reich) started working in Acid House.

V2 now features 48 presets (including the original 24) accessed by double clicking “Embedded” in the presets side-pane. It also features a cleaner, annotated GUI that follows the signal flow and the mod-wheel is now wired to FM and preset B (user setting). All tempos have been set to 104 bpm across the instrument but like everything else in a Blocks ensemble it is up to the user to do what they like with it.

Don’t forget to put the patches into external sync if running inside your DAW.

Note that the reverb at the end of the signal chain doubles up as master level. Also be aware that Reichian will eat your CPU; mine registers 38% of a 2.9Ghz Intel Core i5 with 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 on a 2013 iMac though nothing’s melted yet.

Thanks to the blocks makers who invented the Dattoro Reverb and the Resonating Wood Oscillator, the latter which lends a distinctive percussive clank when needed.

The demo here uses 5 presets from the new bank.

Also, what would Wilhelm do with acid house? Maybe burn the place down? Eesh I’ll see myself out…

Thanks Tony. It's good to be back here. Although I have left music behind for art, my "legacy" Reaktors are all ending up here one by one.
