DESCRIPTION

This ensemble performs two functions. The pan control maintains constant power across the panning range and the crossfeed shares stereo speakers to maintain constant power on low frequencies across the panning range. In general tones descending below 250hz become omni directional in a stereo speaker setup. By sharing low frequency energy between two stereo speakers when a sound is panned the cone excursion is reduced on the panned side and the missing energy is replenished on the opposite stereo speaker. Since the low tones are omni directional anyway you may not hear the difference. However the end result reduces the Doppler distortion by reducing cone excursion on the panned side. This circuit can also help feel the bass using headphones but it is not a true headphone crossfeed circuit, it's meant for stereo speaker systems. There are three versions in the zip file, one to help understand it, one mono and one stereo. This is also in the Reactor forum as well is you have any questions. Please use this as your primary pan control when used in a DAW. Center the DAW pan pot and use the mono version before other stereo effects when a mono recording track was used. With stereo tracks please use the stereo version; It is simply two identical mono version. Recommend using the visual help ensemble in the standalone reaktor to get acquainted. It's a simple sine or pink noise sweep circuit that reduces volume 3db per octave to maintain persistent energy with the sine wave throughout the sweep. Switching to pink noise reduces the volume as it sweeps. It's helpful to center your stereo speakers at your mixing station. Note*Adjust the xfeed frequency to suit your needs. 80hz is the default. Hope this works out, doppler distortion can be a real problem, especially at louder volumes. This cuts the low frequency power in half on a full pan while the other stereo speaker produces the other half. They acoustically add back to normal power. Nice for panning bass instruments while maintaining a cleaner sound. Newb's the core can be added to any VSTI ensemble but place it after the main out voice combiners.
