8 Euclidean Sequencer Blocks to drive Polyplex
DESCRIPTION
This is a blocks version of my Euclidean Polyplexor ensemble. It doesn't have the snaps to keys capabilities that the original had, it takes up a lot of screen space, making the use of Reaktor panelsets a necessity, and the performance isn't as good (50%-60% cpu load) as the original. It does have accents, and the midi output problems from the original have been avoided by using salamanderanagram's Euclidean Sequencer blocks. I abandoned developing it a while ago because of these shortcomings, but decided to revisit it recently. I know some people like this kind of ensemble, so here it is, warts and all.
This ensemble doesn't make any sounds on its own, it just outputs midi notes. It was designed to be used with Twisted Tools Polyplex ensemble (available for purchase from the NI website), but can be used with any ensemble or VST instrument that uses midi notes as input.
It uses 8 Euclidean Sequencers with accents (by salamanderanagram) to send gates and velocity to 8 Midi Out blocks (by Emm@) which sends midi notes to the 8 pads of Polyplex. It uses 8 Triple LFO mini blocks (by Brett) to modulate the 8 Euclidean Sequencers. The Triple LFO mini blocks are wired to use the sine wave out ports, and only uses 2 of the 3 available LFOs, the unused LFO 3 is turned off in each. LFO 1 is slower than LFO 2, so it is used for Rotate and other dials where slow changes are desired. LFO 2 is a little faster and is used for Beat Velocity and Accent Velocity, providing a degree of velocity variation (humanization). The Shuffle control on the Utility Clock (+ or -) can be used to provide a little humanization to the timing. The VEL % dial on the Midi Out blocks can be used to adjust the overall velocity of midi notes for individual pads (instead of messing with the modulated Beat/Accent Velocity on the sequencers).
Setup instructions - 1 ensemble (Polyplex inside Euclidean Polyplexor)
Open the Euclidean Polyplexor ensemble, go to instrument view, import the Polyplex ensemble into it. Select Polyplex, go to properties, Connect tab. Midi in Internal has a select drop down, click it and select all 8 Midi Out instrument. You have to click the drop down 8 times to select all 8.
Connect the top 2 Polyplex outputs to the 2 output terminals. Update Panelsets 1, 3 and 4 to include Polyplex as suggested by the name. **Save as** and give it a new name. It will take a while to save, it now has the 500mb Polyplex ensemble inside it.
Setup instructions - 2 ensembles in a DAW
Load 2 instances of Reaktor, load Euclidean Polyplexor into 1 and Polyplex into the other. Then route the midi accordingly. This approach may give move flexibility for routing midi ins to whichever ensemble you desire.
Setup instructions - send midi notes to a VST instrument in a DAW
Load 1 instance of Reaktor and load Euclidean Polyplexor into it. Load a VST instrument, route the midi output from Reaktor to the midi input of your VST instrument. Use the Set Pitch knobs on the Midi Out blocks to set the 8 midi notes sent out.

salamanderanagram's Euclidean Sequencers with accents block - rearranged the knobs and made it a little smaller.
Emm@'s Midi Output block - modified so the default Set Pitch midi note number matched the default midi note that Polyplex is expecting. The Set Pitch knob can be used to set the midi notes between 0 and 127.
