Reaktor 6

DESCRIPTION

WARNING: You need to "bow" it by moving CC1 and "bowing" intensity is set with Channel Aftertouch. If you give value 0 to either CC1 or Channel Aftertouch there will be no sound.

This was designed with the Linnstrument in mind, with which you can bown with the low row and each note's instensity is controlled individually. Keep in mind that it is made to be "bowed". By default, the bow is played with CC1 (Modwheel) and intensity is played with Channel Aftertouch. The bow gesture can be set to different sources such as CC74 (for Roli users).

-Sound generation is the same as the Serenade 3 Reaktor Ensemble made by Chet Singer (https://www.native-instruments.com/es/reaktor-community/reaktor-user-library/entry/show/7463/). Most of the control aspect of the sound generation has been tweaked so that it is easy to use with a Linnstrument.

It has also been upgraded to 4 voices, each one of them is monophonic and all voices are bowed at the same time with the same CC ... Just like a real violin!

Please keep in mind that this is still just a proof of concept, I am still working on this. Please let me know of any bugs or features missing/not working.

Daniel, Nathan and unknown user. It's been a while so you might not see this. You do need to pass values with CC1 and Channel Aftertouch. I've updated the description to wran of this. If you pass 0 to either, youll end up with no sound. If you want to only bow with no aftertouch, you need to modify the ensemble and replace all channel aftertouch routing with something else, like just the straight knob mapping, though this will mean every note will likely have the same intensity. I will not spend any time to "redesign" this ensemble as it is working close enough to intended.

Chet, after working some with Serenade 3, I'm so excited to get this version going. I'm experimenting with an old Leap Motion controller as well as with a TEControl breath controller. I've succeeded at getting controller information in using the Leap Motion Controller, but don't get any audio even when holding down keys (I can see the VU meter activating when I use my controller, but no audio). When I switch on Pizzicato, I'm able to activate sound (although a delay is also triggered). Are my problems related to needing to activate/deactivate MPE somewhere...or to the fact that I am not using a Linnstrument? Or is it something else foolish like forgetting to turn on my electric toothbrush? :)

Just like the original - whatever you hit, move or change.. absolutely no sound.

Hola Ognen, Sorry for the late response... in order to make sound you need to do two things: 1. bow the string with CC1 2. set bowing intsensity using channel aftertouch. Keep in mind that each string operates on its own MIDI channel, bowing bows all strings but the bowing intensity is set per string/channel.

Hi Gustavo, this is what I've been waiting for - simultaneous string playing, but can't make sound out of it. Playing with keyboard and MOD Wheel and nothing happens. Can you tell us instructions for those who don't know how to enable it playing? Thank you.

now it makes sense :) thanks!

@Thala if you are using a linnstrument, just set the low row to CC1. That way the low row is your Bow!

@Paule Corrected! Somehow listening to jazz made me instantly type Chet Baker jajajaja @Thala I am not using the Y-axis, I am using CC-1 on a Linnstrument Low Row (think of it as a fader that acts on all channels). If you are using a Seaboard Rise, you could configure one of the left side touchstrips or the X/Y pad to control this. I also included other sources.

hey gustavo. thanks! somehow i knew you were on this one. but can you please make a short video showing your fingers playing this one? havin a hard time here. maybe its just a wrong setting. since the linny is so hyperreactive on the Y-axis, its hard to play only one Y at the time. and so the bow seem to jump hectical around. but i really can`t imagine a good4all solution yet. maybe separating the Y axis per voice, but that makes it even harder to play? swapping the aftertouch and x-axis functions would be interesting as well? or did you tried all this maybe already?

Do you mean Chet Singer instead of Baker?
