DESCRIPTION

Hello from outer space.

This is a compilation of my best Blocks, including dozens of oscillators, filters, and effects. They have now been updated to work with the Racks mode front panel patching system. I hope you enjoy them!

♫♪♫♪
(Dual DPW is the only sound source for the demo track.)

Note, some of the experimental Blocks from previous uploads have been omitted. This version includes only the contemporary modules which should work well in Racks. Please keep the previous version of the pack if you'd still like to use the old blocks.

Switch the blocks to view A and use in ensemble mode for original functionality.

After I became disabled, the music just kind of faded from my life as the pawnshops gradually consumed all my instruments. Thanks to your contributions and that of others here, I have the necessary beauty and therapy of music in my life again as I try and slowly rehabilitate. I could never have achieved this any other way, and the sheer beauty of these creations is humbling. Thank You!

Yes it was one of the major complaints when Racks first came out. This recent patch was very exciting for this reason.

Sorry, I see now that the latest version of Reaktor has just started allowing user content in racks. Wow, strange that wasn't allowed, perhaps it was a difficult issue?
Eric Curkendall

Can't load them however. Get an error message saying no user content allowed to be loaded in a rack.

Thanks. Front panel patching updates coming after the next patch, but I don’t think the Rust blocks will be included. They were a good experiment but I may reuse the ideas with a more conventional block style.

After further investigation, looks like Rust-Lofi has a divide by zero error in DPW Osc-2 in Process 2. Replaced the DPW 4-Waves with the 4-waves from the library. Seems to work now. Cheers!

These are AWESOME. Thank you!!! FYI, when I connect Rust-Lofi outs, it seems to kill all Reaktor sound output and I have to restart. I tried some different configurations and seems to be reproducible. Cheers and thanks again!

Hi Brett! Are you considering update to patcheable modules Reaktor 6.3.3? Thanks!
Zach

Hey thanks for making these modules! they're awesome! One comment though: It looks like the bypass function on your 'Axis' and 'Axis2' effects are busted. All it does is cuts all signal when you click the bypass button.

Make sure your version of Reaktor is up to date, then drag and drop the Blocks from your desktop or the file browser into your ensemble’s structure view. It should be as simple as that. There is also a folder of example ensembles to show how they can be patched.

At center position the signal is completely unfiltered, functionality is the same as the normal Bento VCA. Thanks for checking them out.

In the VCA+Color, it seems we have a weak level, even in center position. May be raise the process/amp value ? Or is it your will ?

Hello Brett! The value of your work is simply beyond words! So I give a shit on further laudatory bla and better visit paypal as soon as my modest monthly salary comes in. Promised! One more thing: The demo track is not only tonally but also musically very persuasive and inspired me immediately to create some own buzzes and plopps. Maybe I´ll post a link to the tune here... Thanks again for all the benefactions you bestow on us blockheads...;-)

I liked the clean look. It wasn't intentional, but I don't mind the association. Music is the world's best weapon against hate. Use it well and often, especially in hard times! And I hope these come in handy when you do!

Hi Darren, thanks very much for your kind words. The demo track was made with the test ensemble Path Test 1. It is multiple recordings stitched back to back, not one performance. Have fun!

I've gotten better at implementing the Diode as an effect, so I updated the original that was in the Wavedraw Oscillator. In the new blocks I tried really hard to balance volume levels, and I think I did a good job in the end. Please let me know what you think about them, and if you have any suggestions for improvements to these, or any of my blocks.
Brett Lavallee

The Linear Congruential is a "rudimentary" type of number generator, so it's a little more predictable than the other styles of chaos. But although it is not exactly suitable for modern encryption, it certainly works for musical means. I hope you like it!

Nice! Thanks for the convenient pack! If you're interested, my Diode macro was taken from this line in the Mutable Instruments' Warps DSP: https://github.com/pichenettes/eurorack/blob/fa31019560946d094e2bf5d97445b203bb5ebeb6/warps/dsp/modulator.cc#L347 I recommend taking a look at the original paper as well. I tweaked the numbers so that Squid Axon would behave more like the videos I watched on it. There's another instance of that macro in my Ring Modulator effect, but I think it has different numbers from the Squid.
