DESCRIPTION

My simple attempt to emulate the warm and warn out tones of crappy old cassettes and VHS tapes.

Also inspired by my love of a certain Scottish electronica duo ;)

No presets, but the controls are pretty self explanatory (plus the default settings are set where I like them).

A lot of tape emulations I have found are aimed at simulating high quality tape recorders that are well setup and maintained. This is designed to do the exact opposite!

Einar Aurnolds, it's actually really easy to do! In EDIT mode, just go to the properties of the Noise knob and set the min down from -60 to -80 or whatever works for you!!

Love this. Such a great effect. The only thing was I had to hack it a bit to be able to take the noise floor down a bit as it was getting a bit too much with a few instances.

Nice and elegant GUI with nice graphics (could stand to be larger though, since i'm on a 27" screen here), straight-forward, good trashing of sound... Thanks for sharing this.

Thanks for the kind comments! Please note there is no VST version, and I believe you need the full version of Reaktor to run User Library Ensembles (not sure though you will have to check). Cheers!

My MOST favourite Reaktor effect and only rivaled by XLN's RC-20 when it comes to low-fi effects that I use frequently (which is not at all free). Thanks so much Stephen!

Hi Matt thanks for the comments. It's a simple mod (make the cb attenuation higher on the knob). I'll update the ensemble.

Superb - been after this kind of thing for a while. Anyone able to mod this so that the noise disappears completely when the 'noise' dial is turned all the way down? Thanks!

Very cool, would be nice to upload some Sound Examples on the edit page for those who want to be sold on hearing it before downloading.
