For the drums, I used Battery 4’s Techno Wikinger kit processed through Guitar Rig 5. Another layer came from Polyplex processed with Supercharger GT then a final layer of a simple tambourine from Drumlab. The bass came from the Kontakt Factory Bank’s Resoid Moog. The main synth is a simple preset from FM8 with no extra processing. Finally, a little bit of FX from Damage and a little bit of extra limiter on the master bus just to push it all harder!
Biography
Following a formative decade in the global hip-hop underground, Jim Coles took the name Om Unit in the late 2000s and began to travel across genres and scenes in search of sonic tropes to cross-breed and re-imagine. Key to his approach is a desire to never settle for the destination and instead focus on what can be learned from the journey.
